Who’s Going to Save the Paramedic?

basic417:

We endure life’s tragedies and miracles, give our time, compassion, and energy to patients we have never met before, but are we doing the same for our partners and co-workers, from day one we are taught scene safety and it’s importance but that awareness extends past just the call. As brothers and sister of EMS we watch each other’s backs on and off the job, are we really taking notice? This is a great article on The White Thin Line we walk everyday. A must read and pass along.

The Bill Of Rights?

militiamedic:

If they can tell you there’s certain things you’re not allowed to say, you don’t have free speech.

If they can tell you there’s only certain places you can protest, only at certain times, and only by special license, you don’t have the freedom to assemble.

If they can tell a journalist they can…

Had like a 4 hour session that ended with me meeting up with russkiegunny and forming a group of survivors.
This kid didn’t make it. Let me tell you about this little fucker. I spawned relatively close to the airfield, and since it was right after a server reset I decided to go take a look. I found this kid, no more than ten, outside the air traffic control tower, who instead of having an ounce of caution, decided to tell me his whole life story.
"So I was in Berezino and this guy through a grenade at me so I jumped out the window and survived, and then I ran all the way here and I found you and-"
"Stop talking right now"
but he didn’t, he kept following me as I looted, kept bitching about basic game play elements like starting hunger. Eventually I told him to fuck off, but he persisted on us “teaming up”.
"Look this isn’t the fucking last of us, I’m not going to begrudgingly take you with me on some heroic journey. Your balls haven’ dropped and these headphones are past their warranty so I need you to fuck off in the other direction."
He called me a nigger and I ended the relationship shortly after.

we enjoy this

Wut?

This catastrophic failure was said to be the result of an Eldest Son round. Project Eldest Son was originally performed during the Vietnam War in order to generate distrust in amongst the North Vietnamese forces against their Chinese suppliers. 7.62x39mm ammunition was specially designed to hold a small explosive charge, which would detonate when the user attempted to fire the cartridge, injuring or killing the user. This ammo was distributed by SOG troops into NVA ammo caches, with single rounds of explosive ammo placed into large quantities of “good” ammo to keep the enemy unaware of the true cause of explosion.
While there is no official record of similar unconventional warfare tactics being used in Iraq and Afghanistan, it’s entirely possible that modern SF may still be employing this tactic, or that the ammo shown in this .gif is a leftover round from that era.

such a pretty ak too….
